you design your own path

college changed my dream career

I went to college because it’s what I needed for what I thought I was going to do with my life. Growing up, all I wanted to be was a middle school math teacher. It was until the end of freshman year of college that I realized that isn’t where my life should go.

If you know me, you probably know my family has owned a manufacturing business for over 90 years! After my first year of college, I was torn between wanting to live out of my dream job and doing what would be right for the company I’ll inherit.

I chose to change my dream path & focus on business to better myself for the future of the company.

it was HARD to accept that my younger self would be sad, but I was also so proud of myself for making this decision for myself, my siblings, my cousins, my parents, our employees, and many more. I began working at the company when I was 18 years old & have already learned to much.

I was taking classes that dove into great detail about business in general. & yes, some classes I believe I did not need and still do. Could I have learned all of that without college? Probably. Would I have the knowledge I have today about the business world without college? Possibly.

There’s so many different paths someone can take & still end up in the same business/career. I have worked with coworkers with no college, some college, and many years of college. But the correlating factor of all of these people is their work ethic.

Working hard will get you where you want to be & achieve.

If college is your route, I am proud of you.
If no college is your route, I am also proud of you.

your path in life isn’t determined my a piece of paper. your path is determined by you, and that is perfect.
