When you grow up watching Say Yes To The Dress, you have a whole lot of excitement when it comes to the thought of even looking at wedding dresses!
I might be biased, but wedding dress shopping may be the best part of the planning process. I got to have my family & Morgan’s family with me which made the whole experience 10/10.
The fact that I got to try I dresses that I could be getting married to the love of my life in…WOW it was a little overwhelming, but the good kind of overwhelming.
Here are a few quick questions & answers to help you along the wedding dress journey!
who do you want to bring with you?
Bring the people that mean the most to you. The bridal shop I went to had a limit of how many people you can bring with you which made it a bit easier for me to narrow it down. I brought my mom, my sister, my best friend, my future MIL, and my future sister in law!
what did i wear undergarment wise?
This was actually the one think I was stressed about. I called the bridal shop & they told me to wear whatever I feel comfortable in that is nude. I chose not to wear a bra because if you know me, you know I hate them so I knew i didn’t want to wear one my wedding day. where to go dress shopping in kansas city?
I went to BRIDE.KC. I had been following them on social media for a while before I was even engaged & knew I wanted to go there. If I didn’t find a dress there that blew me away, my second choice was True Society.
how did i choose which bridal boutique to go to?
I loved the aesthetic of the shop and also loved that the variety of dresses wasn’t super overwhelming but they do get shipments in of new styles very often. I am a simple person when it comes to shopping for anything and new I wanted to same thing when it came to dress shopping as well.
did i have a style or specific dress in mind?
I knew the style of dress that I wanted because of my body shape, but my stylist actually pushed me out of my comfort zone to try on all different styles which was a great thing for me!
how did i know that i found the one?
I WAS CRYING SO HARD!!! I came into the appt. thinking that I wouldn’t get emotional & wow I was wrong. I tried on 3 dresses before this specific one and as soon as i stepped on the podium & looked at myself. All I could think about was walking down the isle to Morgan and becoming her wife. It was so beautiful & everyone in the room loved it as well.
how many dresses did i try on?
I think I tried on maybe 10-15? I honestly can’t remember but it was the perfect amount. I kept trying dresses on after the one I cried in to see if anything would top it or if i got the same feeling and nothing measured up to it.
did they let me pull dresses i wanted to try?
When I got there, I was asked about where we were getting married and the vibe I was hoping to go for. After that I was brought into the dress section and told to pick 3 of the dresses that stood out to me the most. She got those for me and then grabbed a few others that I should try on. And then we went from there.
