how i asked my wedding party
After Morgan proposed, one of the many things I thought of when it comes to our wedding was who I wanted to stand next to me. Having those people next to me is so exciting and fun because it’ll be all my closest people. I am grateful all my people live in KC which made asking them in person so much better! & Btw, they all said yes!
Figuring out who you want in your wedding party can be hard, especially when you have a lot of close friends. You never want to hurt the feelings of your other friends, but it’s also your day to do what you want. I could honestly have as many people as I wanted, if I did that it would be way too much for me. So, I kept it at 5. Five of the closest friends and family.
Challie - my only sister and the person I am closest to. So of course, she is my maid on honor. We have been by each other’s side through all that life has brought us. She had to be the first person I asked which made it even more special. & Yes, it was at a Mexican restaurant because where else would we be?
Jasmin – my soul mate. I swear I was put on this earth to be friends with Jasmin. We have been in each other’s lives since elementary school and have only grown closer as the years go by and couldn’t imagine getting married without her sassy self next to me.
Hayden – where to I start? Hayden and I have been friends since 2018 and have grown such a good relationship. He brings a light and a laugh to ever situation and can make any day better. Life is fun with him.
Alexis – we have known each other since middle school but didn’t become close friends until about a little over 2 years ago! She is a whole world of crazy but that’s where the party starts. Alexis walks in and everyone knows she’s there. We quickly became best friends and see each other every chance we get. She is also the mom to our ring bearer, Leo, who is the cutest little boy ever!!
Rilie – this is a friendship that I will cherish forever because it blossomed so fast. We met at college and have remained friends since but this past year we have become very close, and it is a friendship I will forever cherish.
I wanted to ask my party in a way that isn’t “cliché” but definitely describes me as a person. SOOO that concluded in me deciding to give them wine bottles with cuss words on them, asking them to be in my wedding party. What else what be more Erin? Nothing. I love to drop an f bomb, okay.
I also gave them a card with our wedding colors, date, location, dress/suit info, a list of the other party members, and a well as a few fun party “rules!”
I can’t wait to get married & have these people with me the whole day as I marry the love of my freaking life !!!
