5 THINGS IVE LEARNED THIS SUMMER

This summer might have been the best summer yet. My schedule was jam-packed but was jam-packed with all things that brought me experiences, excitement, relaxation, and so many laughs. I’ve become more in tune with myself this summer while also making my mental and physical health as a priority. In celebrating in the start of fall, here are 5 things I learned this summer that I will continue to carry on with me.

——

1.       Put yourself first, always.

This is seriously such a hard thing to do when all you want to do is think and help other people. It is okay to be selfish when it means you are protecting yourself in more ways than one.

2.       Make all your relationships a priority

ALL relationships., not just your significant other. Your parents, siblings, friends. All of these relationships. Making time for these people and showing that I care changed my summer and my future. I have brought new friendships into my life & I have nourished existing ones that I’ve already had that have grown so much. Start saying yes to these people and value all the time you have with them.

3.       Take that trip.

When I say my summer was full, it was full. I had to schedule time with my friends & put it in my calendar to make sure I didn’t forget. From May to October, I traveled 5 times. Each time I came home I was anxious about leaving again and wanted to stay home. As soon as I got to that new destination, all of those fears went away, and I embraced all the fun adventures and laughs that were brought.

4.       Rebuild your life

Try and identify the things missing in your life and rebuild that part. This also ties into my fifth point, finding something new to do.

5.       Find something new to do

This can be as simple as a daily walk (this was part of mine). I haven’t always prioritized moving my body. At the start of the summer I made it a point to move my body everyday and this included daily walks. Going to the gym a couple days a week has also changed my mindset and made my days so much better than before.

Little changes make big differences.

I hope you all had a great summer & will also take what you learned these past couple months and continue it onto the rest of the year and later!
